Exercise cues/tips:

  • Setup with an EZ bar holding the wider grip

  • Keeping the elbows soft throughout, curl the bar up by bending the elbows and then control the eccentric phase down

  • Biceps

 

Exercise progression:

  • Preacher EZ bar curl

 

Exercise regression:

  • Straight bar bicep curl

❗Marcolin et al. (2018) found the EZ bar curl to elicit the greatest EMG activity of biceps brachii and brachioradialis while performing different variants of bicep curls.
