Exercise cues/tips:

  • Start by holding a weight, preferably a medicine ball, out in front at approximately 90deg shoulder flexion

  • Then, use the weight to 'write out' the alphabet in the air in front of you, using the shoulders predominantly for the movement

  • Shoulders

  • Scapula

  • Rotator cuff

  • Core

Exercise progression:

  • Bilateral shoulder ABC's weight dumbbells 

 

Exercise regression:

  • Unweighted shoulder ABCs
